Artists' letters sent to Thomas H. Garver, 1970-2000 [manuscript]

The collection includes letters from American and British artists: Stephen Ambrose, Jim Dine, Michael Kenna, Robert Kushner, Joseph Raffael, John Szarkowski, George Tooker. The Kushner and Rafael letters have watercolor designs on them. Although Benno Schmidt was a university president (Yale) and Stephen Ambrose an author and neither of them artists, since their letters were sent with the above letters and are also described by the donor, they have been kept with the collection.
